// the hiring gap is real
Companies hire graduates with strong GPAs who can't debug a null pointer or ship a feature. Bug Refinery closes that gap — with industry-simulation labs, real codebases, and hands-on projects that mirror actual engineering work.
async function fetchUser(id: string) { const res = await fetch(`/api/users/${id}`) // BUG: no error handling return res.json() } // FIXED: async function fetchUser(id: string) { if (!id) throw new Error("Invalid ID") const res = await fetch(`/api/users/${id}`) if (!res.ok) throw new Error(res.statusText) return res.json() }

// why graduates fail
“We hired three CS grads last quarter. All had 3.8+ GPAs. None could debug a basic race condition or read a stack trace without help.”
“I aced every exam. I knew Big O notation cold. But my first week on the job, I couldn't figure out why the API was returning 500s.”
// the process
01
$ step-01 simulate
Work inside real-world codebases — messy, undocumented, and full of the kind of bugs you'll actually encounter on the job. No toy examples.
02
$ step-02 debug
Timed debugging challenges, code reviews, and production incident simulations. Build the muscle memory that separates senior engineers from juniors.
03
$ step-03 ship
Complete end-to-end projects with PR reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and stakeholder feedback. Graduate with a portfolio that proves you can deliver.
// what you get
Hands-on labs built from real production scenarios. Debug authentication flows, optimize slow queries, fix broken APIs — the same problems engineers face daily.
Navigate and fix bugs in large, unfamiliar codebases. Build the skill most graduates never develop in college.
Evaluated on real deliverables, not multiple-choice tests.
A credential companies actually trust — backed by demonstrated skills, not seat time.
Direct access to pre-vetted, job-ready graduates for your engineering team.
Senior engineers review your code and teach you how to think like a professional.
