AutoCAD
Lab Curriculum.
STARTING SOON
BUG FOUND: learners who can draw, but cannot correct a drawing set a site can actually build from.
$ step-01 brushup // weeks 1–2 — Topics taught:
- AutoCAD interface, units, and drawing setup.
- Layers, line types, and drawing standards.
- Precision drawing: snaps, dimensions, and scale.
- Blocks, layouts, and title blocks.
- Reading a drawing set: plans, sections, and details.
- Revision basics: what changed, why, and where it shows.
$ step-02 debug // weeks 3–4 — Production Debugging. Tools: AutoCAD, sample drawing sets, dimension checklists.
- BUG #1: Flawed drawing: a dimension does not add up — find the error, correct it, verify all related dimensions.
- BUG #2: Measurement / scale error: a detail is drawn at the wrong scale — correct scale and annotations.
- BUG #3: Missing details: a junction cannot be built from the drawing — add the missing detail consistently.
- BUG #4: Clashing dimensions across sheets — reconcile all sheets, issue a revision note.
$ step-03 navigate // weeks 5–7 — Codebase / System Navigation:
- Navigate a full drawing set and its revisions; trace one change across every affected sheet.
- Correct a change consistently: plan, section, and detail must agree.
- Audit a drawing set for standards, layers, and completeness; list every non-conformance.
- Review a peer's correction for buildability, not just appearance.
$ step-04 ship // weeks 8–9 — Shipping Features: capstone — a corrected drawing set with a revision note, ready for a site reviewer to check.
$ ship → PROOF — exact output: corrected drawing set, revision note, and an audit checklist.
